We provide services relating to Business Plans and Financing Support; Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Management; Environmental Management and Resource Efficiency; European Programs and Grants; Training; as well as services related to a bespoke pioneering web-based software (the 7 Toolkit) that we have developed on sustainability risk assessment for organisations and their supply chains/subsidiaries. We have an extensive network of global partners and work with the public and private sectors in Cyprus (where our headquarters are based), Greece, the Middle East and beyond.

Job Description:

We are recruiting a full-time permanent trainee consultant. The trainee consultant role is an entry level full-time position open to candidates that have limited (such as a relevant internship) or no relevant work experience. The successful candidate will primarily work closely with – and be mentored by – our experienced consultants on the wider portfolio of projects that Aspon undertakes, relating to all our services. Please note this is a full-time permanent position, not an internship nor a placement for a limited amount of time. 

Duties may include but not be limited to:

  • Drafting of business plans;
  • Economic assessments, including cost-benefit analysis and feasibility studies;
  • Sustainability reporting;
  • Implementation of ISO standards;
  • Primary research in a range of fields, including designing and conducting interviews and surveys;
  • Data analysis;
  • Support related to European programs and grants;
  • Development and delivery of training;
  • Technical support;
  • Project support and management; and
  • Bid support.

Tasks undertaken will vary according to the contracts and clients. The following types of tasks are likely to be commonly required:

  • Client meetings and liaison;
  • Meetings with stakeholder groups;
  • Contributing to and independently delivering presentations;
  • Research;
  • Report writing;
  • Data analysis;
  • Development and operation of spreadsheet-based models;
  • Timekeeping; and
  • Project management.

Location & Hours of Work:

Our office is in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The position is full-time i.e. 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 07:30 to 09:00 until 16:30 to 18:00 (depending on time of arrival).

Start Date:

January 2020. An indication of the notice period you are required to work out (if relevant) and your earliest possible start date should be identified in the email with your cover letter and CV.

Requirements:

  • Educated to at least degree level (and perhaps a post-graduate qualification as well) in a relevant discipline (to include, but not limited to engineering, economics, finance, environmental sciences), or with practical background or experience relevant to the job description;
  • Excellent all-round IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Greek and in English;
  • Proven organisational skills, working in a calm, logical way to deliver tasks efficiently;
  • A methodical and rigorous approach with a high-level of attention to detail;
  • Ability to apply practical, common sense thinking to real-world problems;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with multiple colleagues, peers, and external clients;
  • Ability to think creatively and independently and to take initiative to solve problems;
  • To be a confident and clear communicator; and
  • To be able to motivate yourself to work independently and fit well within a team.

Remuneration & Benefits:

  • The salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
  • Benefits include profit & fund contributions, after the probation period.
  • The holiday entitlement is 22 days per year (plus national holidays).
